I went to church last night with my wife. Yes I know...and its amazing the place did not burn down as I walked in. My wife happens to be a woman of faith and she tries to convert me daily. So as we were sitting there listening/singing the hymns....the song O Holy Night came up. It was these lines that particularly caught my interest.
Truly He taught us to love one another,
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains he shall break, for the slave is our brother.
And in his name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
With all our hearts we praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we,
Now my question immediately was...........WTF??????? All of the Christians I know support some form of aggression and war...be it Obama or Bush....they love to kill others and starve them to death....Or at the very least support people who do. A true Christian would believe in peace...and love as the song states. They would not believe in going to war with Iran because they might get a nuclear weapon...as if you believe in the lord.....his plan is set...there are no deviations from it. So how is a nuclear Iran going to change a damn thing??? Same with bombing Libya...Pakistan, Iraq, Yemen.......I think you all get my drift. Wouldn't diplomacy and love work better than intolerance and bombs???
Christians....this is my plead to you....live up to what you preach...hold your Democrat and Republican representitives up to the ideals of your lord and saviour. They should be promoting love and peace and respect. Not war and hatred.
May this holiday season find you all in good health. Merry Christmas
Peace to all mankind...may we find the courage to do what is right
PS........after the song was over I turned to my wife and said...."The song states what is Ron Pauls stance on life...his whole platform." To which she rolled her eyes at me at promptly turned her back to me.
guess politics and religion dont mix.
I just had to add that little bit to give a smile to everyone who knows me.
