President Obama wants to give raises to people collecting federal paychecks, but in his new budget proposal, troops would get a larger pay boost than civilian employees.

The White House budget plan released Monday would increase federal civilian pay by a modest 0.5 percent, a bump that would end a two-year cost-of-living pay freeze. Uniformed military personnel would receive a 1.7 percent raise in 2013, the increase indicated by law, according to the proposal.

The budget also calls for federal workers to increase their contribution to their retirement program by 1.2 percent over three years.

What is so sad is that he is saying/implicating that only the government workers - only the government workers/employees/military - can reduce his $7.8T deficit. He doesn't want/need to cut any of the functions/relationships of contractors/wall street/industrial America to attempt to make up "his" deficit - just the fed. There may be "some" logic to his madness, but the Fed is only a small piece of the overall picture - which he and Congress appear to be ignoring.

but you are buying votes with this action.....and that is what is corrupt with the liberal and for that matter the conservative platforms...it buys votes...its corruption. with the government taking over more and more of the workforce....it is solidifying your votes.
